Sandra Bullock's new movie The Lost City of D adds Brad Pitt to the cast

Sandra Bullock movie The Lost City of D has Brad Pitt onboard for a special cameo.

This welcome news arrived via The Hollywood Reporter, as the outlet also confirmed that shooting is scheduled to kick off in the Dominican Republic this summer.

Big names such as Channing Tatum and Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe have roles too, alongside Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Patti Harrison.

As for what it's all about, The Lost City of D is described as being a 'screwball adventure' spin on the romance genre. Bullock, who is also producing the project, plays a reclusive novelist who gets stuck on a book tour with her latest release's cover model (played by Tatum).

However, things go from bad to worse when the pair find themselves entangled in a kidnapping plot that takes them into the jungle as though they were recreating one of her stories.

For now, it's unknown who Pitt will play.

Meanwhile, with Pitt's addition to the cast, this marks his second upcoming collaboration with Bullock on the big screen.

Back in February, it was revealed that she would appear in director David Leitch's assassin actioner Bullet Train, which recently wrapped production.

Oscar winner Pitt's character in this one is named Ladybug, while Bullock (who won an Oscar herself 11 years ago) plays Maria.

The Lost City of D is currently scheduled to hit cinemas on April 15, 2022.
