Laura Vandervoort is coming to ‘Saw: Legacy’.
According to Variety, the upcoming ‘Saw: Legacy’ has added ‘Smallville’ star (and former Supergirl) Laura Vandervoort… alongside co-star Hannah Anderson.
“Laura Vandervoort and Hannah Anderson have become the first actors announced for Lionsgate’s ‘Saw: Legacy’,” they revealed, “the eighth film in the horror franchise.”
But will they make it through in one piece?
Unfortunately, details about the upcoming ‘Saw’ movie are scarce.
But she could well find herself at the mercy of one of Jigsaw’s traps…
Or at least, one of his successors.
“The film — the first ‘Saw’ title in seven years — is directed by the sibling team of Peter and Michael Spierig from a script by Pete Goldfinger, Josh Stolberg, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell. Producers are Mark Burg, Gregg Hoffman, and Oren Koules, the trio that has produced all eight films.”
Of course, ‘Saw’ is based on the work of Jigsaw – a highly-intelligent killer who places his victims in deadly scenarios in order to test their will to survive – providing each of them ways to get out, if they’re willing to sacrifice something.
But will Jigsaw be a part of the new movie?
Well, it’s incredibly likely – even if only in flashbacks. After all, the ‘mysterious’ killer has been the staple of the ‘Saw’ series and despite his death in ‘Saw III’… and continues to play out his legacy via a number of apprentices who continue his twisted work.
How Laura Vandervoort and Hanna Anderson fit into this remains to be seen.
But brace yourself to see one or more of them in one of Jigsaw’s devious traps.
‘Saw: Legacy’ heads to cinemas on 27 October 2017.
