This Scarborough B&B has been named the best in the world by Tripadvisor

The UK is home to the best B&B in the world, according to Tripadvisor’s 19th annual Traveller’s Choice Awards.

The Toulson Court Bed and Breakfast in Scarborough has taken this prestigious title for 2021. The charming B&B is run by couple Angela and James and is just a short walk from Scarborough Beach.

It joins four more UK B&Bs, which have been named among the top 15 in the world.

The Torcroft in Torquay and Dorset House in Lyme Regis were awarded the titles of second and third best in Europe – and third and fourth in the world respectively.

Torlinnhe Guest House in Scotland’s Fort William and Haven Cottage in Cumbria’s Ambleside took the fourth and fifth spot in Europe and sixth and 12th in the world.

These B&Bs have been praised for going the extra mile and delivering top-notch service even during the pandemic.

As well as being home to award-winning B&Bs, UK hotels have also picked up a few gongs at this year’s awards.

Edgar House in Chester was named as the best romantic hotel in the UK, Torquay’s Haytor Hotel is the UK’s best small hotel and The Hari in London was named as the best hotel in the UK overall.

With foreign holidays to selected nations being given the green light from 17 May, the Tripadvisor Awards also offer a number of international hotel winners for us to dream about, too.

Hotel Colline de France, a French-style chateau in the Brazilian mountain resort town of Gramado, has been named as the best hotel in the world for 2021 while Arinna Cappadocia in Goreme, Turkey took the title of the best new hotel.

• Best B&B: The Toulson Court Bed and Breakfast in Scarborough, UK

• Best all inclusive: Ikos Olivia in Gerakini, Greece

• Most saved hotel: Havana Cabana at Key West in Florida, USA
