Scream's fifth instalment has various scripts in order to stamp out spoilers.

This savvy approach to leaks was confirmed by Bloody Disgusting, as the outlet also revealed that the movie itself will have several different final cuts incase of disaster.

When release time rolls around, though, only the definitive version will be given to cinemas (obviously).

Earlier this year, Sheriff Dewey Riley actor David Arquette teased the upcoming movie's iconic villain.

"There's some great things about Ghostface and his costume. There's more technological advances you can use now, and the fabric we have in this one is probably a little more advanced than the fabric they had when we first did it," he explained to Yahoo! Movies.

"I'm really excited for it – and for the fans."

But that's not all he's commented on, because the subject of co-star Courteney Cox's infamous Scream fringe also cropped up back in August.

"The bangs were my fault," Arquette confessed to Entertainment Tonight. "I have to admit, I was like, 'Oh, you should do a like, Bettie Page thing, you know, just like, a little.' That was my fault. Totally, I'll take full responsibility.

"I mean they're, you know, a professional hairdresser's fault of course. And they didn't really do Bettie Page kind of really blunt bangs. Like, that's what the idea was. They tried to mess with them. You can't. You have to go fully in. You can't, like, halfway those kinds of things."

Scream will hit cinemas on January 14, 2022.
