Scream is about to grace our cinema screens with a brand-new terrifying blood trail of Ghostface murders.
But before the movie is finally out next January (2022), fans of Wes Craven's self-referential slasher saga will get a taste of what's ahead in the first trailer.
The Prince Charles Cinema in London will be showing a clip of the fifth movie, simply titled Scream, on a very special day. On the first movie's 25th anniversary, celebrated on October 11, audiences will be treated to a special digital restoration of the 1996 flick as well as an exclusive preview of the new film. The lucky moviegoers will also receive a free gift with their ticket.
What about those who can't make it to the iconic London cinema? Fear not, as it seems the trailer might find its way online sooner than you think. And October would be the perfect month to amp up the hype for this new gory chapter being the spooky season after all.
The upcoming Scream will see the return of many familiar faces, including final girl Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell. Gail Weathers (Friends star Courteney Cox) and her short fringe will also return alongside her husband, sheriff Dwight 'Dewey' Riley (David Arquette).
As for the movie's latest additions, the film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will also feautre You and Jane the Virgin actress Jenna Ortega, The Boys star Jack Quaid and Vida's Melissa Barrera.
Plot details have been kept under wraps, but one thing is for sure: no one is truly safe in Woodsboro, California.
Scream will hit cinemas on January 14, 2022.
