The new Scream movie debuted its trailer a few weeks ago, but the film isn't coming out until January. This means that fans are trying to fill the time by coming up with all sorts of theories.
One that's been doing the rounds lately suggests that Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott is going to be the killer this time around. It's The Dark Knight's "you either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become this villain," essentially.
However, Jamie Kennedy, who played horror buff Randy Meeks in the original, thinks that this theory is silly.
Speaking to ScreenRant, the Son of the Mask actor said: "I wouldn't want to see Sidney as a killer. No, I don't think that's her at all. I think she's just an empathetic person who's had a hard life. But I think if Scream keeps going, I don't want to be this person, but somebody may have to go. Somebody's got to go."
"If I came back, it could bastardise it. But if there was a plausible way that wouldn't piss off the audience, it might be interesting to entertain," he explained.
"But, as of right now, I believe I'm deader than dead, and I think that's what makes it good is the fact that you are dead and that's why it's strong because you died."
Scream hacks its way into cinemas on January 14, 2022.
