Sean Bean has died so many times on screen that choosing a favourite must be like picking a favourite child.
He's been beheaded (RIP Ned), dismembered by two horses (RIP Ulrich), impaled on an anchor (RIP Sean Miller) and plummeted hundreds of feet to his doom (RIP Alec Trevelyan, twice), but nothing compares to arrows apparently.
"It's my favourite death scene, and I've done a few," he explained. "You couldn't ask for a more heroic death."
Remind yourself of Boromir's glorious demise below:
Director Peter Jackson was going to use CG arrows, but went for a more old-fashioned approach that saw Sean mime getting shot while wearing a metal breastplate under his clothes filled with arrows.
And if any aspiring actor wants to know just how to die the right way, who better to ask than Sean? "You can't show off. You can't be vain or posing... Because every time you die, it's a big f**king moment."
The man knows. After all, someone went as far as creating a montage of death scenes back in 2011.
