When you come across an item on Nordstrom that has more than 7,000 reviews, you know it's a pretty big deal. That's exactly why these Zella Live In High Waist Leggings caught my eye. While browsing the site, I noticed they had way more reviews than most other products; 7,170 to be exact.
Zella Live In High Waist Leggings, $44.25 (Orig $59)
I decided to investigate further, and it turns out these Zella leggings are pretty cult. For the most part, Nordstrom shoppers love them. So much so, in fact, that Nordstrom basically never stops carrying them. (No, not even in the summer!)
Could one pair of seemingly simple black leggings really be this good? I had to find out. I enlisted the help of two friends to put the popular Zella leggings to the test. Below you can see how the Zella Live In High Waist Leggings look on three women with different body types, and find out if they live up to the hype.
"I'm pretty tall so it's relatively rare for me to find a pair of full-length leggings that fit me well, so I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the Zella Live In High Waist Leggings. Even though they are high-waisted, the leggings hit me right at the ankle, and looked and felt great on. I prefer to wear crop tops or just sports bras when I work out so I appreciate that these leggings come up to about mid-torso— and they even have a little hidden pocket that is perfect for my keys. Overall, this style is super comfortable so I could see myself both working out and hanging out in these leggings. Plus, seeing as they're only $44 on sale, these feel like a total steal." — Julia Webb
"Over the past few years I've heard a lot about Zella Live In High Waist Leggings, but I never ended up making a purchase. There are so many options out there so I didn't think I needed ANOTHER pair of leggings. Typically, I go for more of a spandex-style legging which are perfect for my workouts. While I wouldn't wear these leggings for a HIIT class, they are incredibly comfortable and actually add a little warmth! I've really been enjoying wearing these while I run errands, as well as for a bit of yoga at the end of a busy day. The most impressive part of these leggings is that they hold their shape even after running around in them all day! Many leggings that I've tried that have a similar fabric are a tad loose after a day's wear. I also love that I feel held in and smoothed out without feeling suffocated! TLDR: If you're looking for comfort and smoothing, these are for you!" — Jessica Butler
"Before 2020, I only wore leggings sparingly. I was actually team #leggingsarenotpants for a long time. But then the pandemic hit, I rarely ever left home and I needed something comfortable to wear while working from home. Now, though? Whenever the temperature is under 70 degrees, there's a good chance you'll find me in leggings. I've been converted and currently own more than 20 pairs. But hands down, this pair from Zella is one of the top three best pairs I've ever put on. They are thick and substantial and not at all sheer, but also so soft and stretchy. As a person who sits with her legs folded constantly, I can tell you these leggings absolutely hold their shape and do not bag or droop at the knees. I normally would be very hesitant about spending $58 on a single pair of leggings, but these are absolutely worth it, no questions asked." — Jeanine Edwards
