Several shoppers were injured after a car smashed into an Aldi supermarket in Chelmsford breaking signs and windows.

The white car smashed into the store on Wednesday afternoon.

The SUV was moving fast enough to smash through the glass windows and completely enter the building, throwing signs and adverts all over the shop floor.

Several people were hit by the speeding vehicle and thrown to the floor.

It then reversed at speed out of the shop.
