Sex Education's Aimee Lou Wood will star in the new movie Sweet Dreams.

As reported by Deadline, Aimee Lou has signed on to co-star with comedy legend Nick Frost and BAFTA TV Award-nominated actor Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You and The Lazarus Project) in writer-director Carl Tibbetts's crime thriller.

Sweet Dreams will also feature Raised by Wolves' Niamh Algar and Under the Banner of Heaven's Billy Howle in major roles.

The film is being described as "a British Fargo", about a brutal chain of events that begins with a property developer being robbed of millions of pounds.

Writer-director Carl Tibbetts has worked extensively in television, directing episodes of Netflix's Black Mirror and The Lazarus Project.

Sweet Dreams is set to begin production in October, with more casting to be announced as filming gets closer.

Aimee Lou Wood most recently wrapped four seasons in Netflix's coming-of-age comedy Sex Education, having won a BAFTA TV Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for the show in 2021.

She has a very busy schedule coming up, as she's joined the cast of The White Lotus's third season alongside Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs and returning cast member Natasha Rothwell.
