As she continues to battle stage 4 breast cancer, Shannen Doherty says she feels "like a very healthy human being".

The Heathers actor publicly announced her cancer had returned back in February. The diagnosis came after she was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, declaring she was in remission two years later.

In a new interview with Elle, Doherty shared that she will one day write letters for her loved ones but is struggling to comprehend doing so at present while she feels in such good health.

"I haven’t sat down to write letters. That’s something I need to do. There are things I need to say to my mom. I want my husband to know what he’s meant to me,” she told the publication.

"But whenever it comes time for me to do it, it feels so final. It feels like you’re signing off, and I’m not signing off. I feel like I’m a very, very healthy human being. It’s hard to wrap up your affairs when you feel like you’re going to live another 10 or 15 years.”

Due to cancer making her vulnerable to the coronavirus, Doherty isolated with husband Kurt Iswarienko in their Malibu home.

She added that she “tries to treasure all the small moments that most people don’t really see or take for granted”.

Her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Jason Priestly recently said he reaches out to Doherty "every few months" to check in on her.
