Sharon Osbourne struggled to announce the rap nominees at the 62nd Grammy Awards - and it left people "cringing".

The talk show host appeared on stage with husband Ozzydays after revealing he has Parkinson’s disease – to present the trophy for Best Rap/Sung Performance on January 26.

The stars – who are associated with the heavy metal genre, given Ozzy’s time as the lead vocalist for Black Sabbath – messed up the pronunciation of every single rap act in the category.

As Sharon announced the names of rap stars like DJ Khaled, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Lil Nas X and more – the audience erupted in laughter while Twitter users were a little less forgiving over the error.

One user tweeted: "SHARON OSBOURNE IS MAKING ME CRINGE PLZ NO MORE #GrammyAwards [sic]"

Others joked that Sharon should be recruited to host the annual award ceremony next year.

DJ Khaled went on to win the award for his collaboration with the late rapper Nipsey Hussle and John Legend on the track Higher off his album Father of Asahd.

Elsewhere, Billie Eilish enjoyed a stunning night of success, sweeping the big four categories for five wins in total.

The 18-year-old – set to become the youngest artist to ever record the theme for a James Bond film – took home song of the year, best new artist, album of the year and record of the year during Sunday’s ceremony.

Her hit single Bad Guy earned her two of the prizes and her debut album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? won three, including best pop vocal album.

Other winners included Lizzo - who honoured Kobe Bryant in her speech - and Tyler, the creator, who brought his mum on stage with him.
