Shazam! Fury of the Gods has released a final teaser ahead of the film's premiere in cinemas at the end of the week – and it contains a major spoiler.

Fans were, of course, were quick to pick up on surprise reveal, while director David Sandberg warned fans to avoid TV ads or searching the film online if they wanted to view Shazam 2 unspoiled.

"Well, there’s some big Shazam spoilers out there now. If you want to go in fresh, maybe don’t be online or watch tv with ads… Pretty good advice in general actually," he wrote on Twitter.

The spoiler is, in fact, a cameo from Gal Gadot's Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, who briefly appears at the end of the trailer.

In the clip, we see Zachary Levi's Billy Batson attempt to flirt with Wonder Woman, making a 'call me' hand gesture. However, she is less than impressed, responding: "Stick to saving the world, kid."

Billy's failed attempt at flirting is also a call back to the 2019's Shazam!, where the character revealed he had a crush on the superhero.

While we'll have to wait until the film's release to see the exact reason why Gadot's character shows up. It's possible that she might be aiding the family in their fight against the daughters of Atlas.

The appearance of Gadot may come as a surprise to fans, considering the current uncertainty around the character in the DCU.

Following James Gunn and Peter Safran's appointment at the helm of the franchise, plans for the third Wonder Woman film were scrapped as the pair made plans to take the DC universe in a new direction.

Gunn later clarified rumours about the Wonder Woman's future, calling claims of the character being axed from the DC universe "not true".

Shazam! Fury of the Gods has a cinema release date of March 17, 2023.
