Shazam: Fury of the Gods star Ross Butler was pretty bowled over by his legendary co-stars, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu.

Reprising the character Adult Eugene for this month's Worlds of DC sequel, Butler had the distinct pleasure of working opposite Mirren and Liu as the vengeful Daughters of Atlas, Hespera and Kalypso.

He exclusively told Digital Spy: "I cannot say anything about it, but you get to see more of the kids as superheroes, finally.

"It's been something that we've really been wanting to show you guys more of, and you get to see the teamwork within the family."

Addressing the Oscar-winner and the Kill Bill star's involvement, Butler also found time to share: "Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren joined on, who are both legends. I got to meet them both on the same day in the same minute and I geeked out.

"And Rachel Zegler, she's a new part of the cast and she's Snow White! We have so many cool additions and the new super-suits are so sleek."

Meanwhile, as it happens, Mirren wasn't best pleased about her Fury of the Gods wardrobe.

"Don't ask me about the plot, it's too complicated!" she warned Graham Norton on his talk show last month. "We are angry goddesses wearing unbelievably heavy costumes.

"It was very hot and uncomfortable and, in fact, Lucy said at the end of the first day's shooting, 'They are trying to kill us', in all seriousness."

Further into her appearance on the show, the actress went on to reveal: "I did some of my own stunts, but I broke my finger. I was incredibly brave and didn't say anything or complain, because I wanted to be a real 'stunty' person."

Now that's hardcore.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods arrives in cinemas next Friday (March 17).
