The first movie in the franchise Shazam! premiered in 2019 and ran for two minutes longer at 132 minutes. But Shazam! Fury of the Gods will still keep fans entertained as Billy Batson and his foster siblings hope to save the day once more.
DC has faced criticism from fans during the past few months, with the axing of Leslie Grace's Batgirl, the controversy around Ezra Miller's The Flash, and Henry Cavill parting ways with the Superman franchise, despite having a cameo in Black Adam.
However, James Gunn and Peter Safran have now taken over as the franchise's creative leads and hope to bring fresh life and ideas to the DC Universe on screen.

It isn't just DC that has come under fire, Marvel's most recent film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania matched the low record set by Eternals as the joint worst Marvel Cinematic Universe film on Rotten Tomatoes.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods has a cinema release date of March 17, 2023.
