You’ve probably spied their aesthetically-pleasing designs all over your feed; boxes and plates piled artfully high with all sorts of indulgent and healthy bites: think oozy, golden honeycomb, jewel green olives, delicate pleats of salami and more, nestled against rounds of brie and slices of hard cheeses.

A visual knockout and all completely delicious, best-sellers include brie block numbers, letters and symbols (from £65) that are fast becoming a savoury alternative to celebration cakes.

Then there are huge platters and table displays (from £55) that are perfect for parties, and graze boxes (from £12) which can be made for solo dinners as well as for small groups, and are destined to be at every park birthday picnic you’ll attend from now until October.

What is a grazing platter?

Banish all thoughts of a buffet, a grazing platter is so much more. Conceived as a way to serve both canapés and starters at her wedding, founder Toria Smith discovered that the grazing craze, so popular in Australia, had yet to take off in the UK and stepped forward to trail blaze the trend on our shores in 2017. Two years later, her sister Catherine joined the GRAPE & Fig family and the pair have been creating works of ‘edible art’ much to the delight of global brands, celebrities and their 65,000+ followers.

Beloved by big brands and celebrity fans

From SpaceNK and Selfridges, to Clinique and Sainsbury’s, GRAPE & Fig has worked with some of the biggest brands around. Celeb-wise, Vogue Williams ordered platters for beau Spencer Matthews and Victoria Beckham is also known to be a fan of the family-owned company too.

How long is the grazing platter workshop?

In just 15 minutes, GRAPE & Fig will whiz through their genius six step plating method using whatever you have in the fridge and larder to show you how to create a platter to be proud of. Whether you make a mini one to bring some finesse to a WFH lunch, or you’re practising abundant feasts for future visitors, the rules can be scaled up or down as needed.

If you want to join in, you’ll need a large chopping board or serving dish to arrange everything on, cheeses, dried and fresh fruit, nuts, olives and sliced deli meats. Otherwise grab a notepad and pen and prepare to take notes.
