Sienna Miller Wants To Play Captain Marvel

Could there be another ‘Captain Marvel’ contender in sight?

Joining the likes of Emily Blunt and Katee Sackhoff, it looks as though Sienna Miller would like to star in Marvel’s first solo female superhero movie… as the titular ‘Captain Marvel’.

“Yes,” she said. “If it was a good script.” And with Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve on board, Marvel might just have another hit on their hands.

But while Miller may be interested in the role, it seems she’s not entirely certain who it is…

“Captain Marvel?” she asked. “Is that a girl?”

“Captain Marvel… yea… you know, I’m not someone who read a load of comics, and I don’t know that world particularly well, but I think it wold be quite fun – for my kid as well, she’d like it.”

Captain Marvel first appeared under the superhero name ‘Ms. Marvel’, but changed to her new moniker in 2012. When an explosion at a top secret military base causes her genetic structure to meld with that of the alien hero Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers begins to exhibit superhuman abilities.

Captain Marvel possesses superhuman strength and endurance, can fly at roughly six times the speed of sound, and can discharge explosive blasts of energy, which she fires from her fingertips.

And it’s likely that Carol Danvers will be the ‘Captain Marvel’ we meet on screen.

But could Sienna Miller be considered for the role?

There’s already some pretty stiff competition, with Emily Blunt considered to be the fan favourite. But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Captain Marvel’ heads to cinemas on 8 March 2019.
