The channel, which will replace Disney Cinemagic, will also boast first showings of forthcoming Pixar and Disney films including 'Oz: The Great and Powerful', 'The Lone Ranger' and 'Monsters University'.

And thanks to the recent acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney, its future releases will premiere on Sky Movies Disney too, as well as the Disney-owned Marvel Studios titles like 'Iron Man 3' and the sequel to 'Avengers Assemble'.

The deal will also include featuring Disney films on Sky's growing On Demand service, and the catalogue films like 'Pinocchio' and 'Bambi'.

“Disney's movies are loved by all ages and generations, so we're delighted to be bringing this new channel to millions of families at no extra cost,” said Sky Movies director Ian Lewis.

“Sky Movies Disney will be the home of new and classic Disney and Disney/Pixar movies and will offer all new titles at least a year before other TV channels or subscription services.”
