Disney World Florida is getting a brand new attraction in 2017 – and it already looks amazing.

Pandora, The World of Avatar, based on the James Cameron mega-hit Avatar, will open at the park next year and guests can expect to be transported to another world.

Newly-released pictures show a sacred river where visitors sit in canoes and watch glowing plants and creatures light up in the bioluminescent rainforest.

Avatar Flight of Passage will see visitors fly over the jungles of Pandora on a Mountain Banshee, while hungry guests will also be able to eat in the Satu’li Canteen.

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts, said that the attraction, which will be housed in the theme park’s Animal Kingdom, represents a massive leap forward for the Florida resort.

He said: “I think the thing I’m most excited about right now to experience would be everything in Pandora.

“From the place-making to the two extraordinary attractions that will be in the land – both the Na’vi River Journey as well as Avatar Flight of Passage, these promise to set new high-watermarks for our experiential magic we give our guests.”

He added: “The journey culminates in an encounter with a Na’vi shaman who has a deep connection to the life force of Pandora and sends positive energy out into the forest through her music.”

Director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau, have both been involved in the ambitious project.
