Sofia Carson teams up with Bridgerton star for upcoming Netflix movie
Purple Hearts' Sofia Carson is teaming up with a Bridgerton star for a new movie coming to Netflix.
Carson and Corey Mylchreest, who you may recognise from his role as the young King George in Queen Charlotte, will be working together for the streamer's upcoming adaptation of Julia Whelan's book My Oxford Year, Deadline reports.
Mylchreest, who also appeared in The Sandman, shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting a screenshot of Deadline's article and writing: "Super excited to get on board with this story. Let’s get to work [Sofia Carson]."
Sofia shared the same article screenshot to her Instagram, which she captioned: "My Oxford Year ♥️ Here we go @coreymylchreest @netflix . . ."

For those unfamiliar with the book, My Oxford Year tells the story of a young American woman called Anna (who we assume will be played by Carson). Anna has a childhood dream of one day attending the prestigious University of Oxford, and as soon as she's old enough, she makes her way across the pond to make that dream come true.
One thing she wasn't expecting, though? That she may just find she has as much interest in a handsome Brit (who it looks like Mylchreest will be playing), as she does in Oxford while on our side of the pond. It sounds like romance may be on the cards...
While this will mark Mylchreest's first Netflix venture, Carson has starred in more than one production from the streamer before. She previously appeared in the drama comedy Feel the Beat. And, of course, she was also in the rom-com Purple Hearts, which became a big hit for Netflix.
But it looks like this star had quite the roster of Netflix movies in the works, too.
Back in March, she was confirmed to be taking on the lead role in the rom-com The Life List alongside Connie Britton, and she's also appearing in the upcoming Carry-On alongside Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton.
One thing's for sure, Netflix loves Sofia Carson! And so do we.
