Some Star Wars 7 Rumours Are True Says J.J. Abrams

Although little is known for certain about ‘Star Wars VII’, it seems we may know more than we thought… as director J.J. Abrams admits that some of the rumours are true.

That’s right ‘Star Wars’ fans – although security has been tighter than a Trade Federation blockade, it looks as though some of those juicy ‘Star Wars VII’ rumours may turn out to be true. And while J.J. Abrams admits that there’s more to them than it seems, we have to wonder…

Which ones?

During an interview with the BBC, ‘Star Wars’ director J.J. Abrams admitted that there’s been a few problems with secrecy… and some of the rumours are true.

“We did the best we can to preserve the story for the audience, but it doesn’t always work,” he said. And after a slew of leaks – including set pictures as well as concept art and script breakdowns – it looks as though the ‘Star Wars’ director has been having trouble keeping a lid on things.

“There are a ton of rumours - some true, some false,” he added. “But I’m grateful for everyone who would want to read a spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie.”

“I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself.”

It’s an interesting move for the director of one of the biggest (and most secretive) franchises in Hollywood to openly admit that some of the rumours we’ve seen are on the money. But we can’t help thinking there are plenty of elements of ‘Star Wars VII’ that remain unclear.

So at least not everything has been spoiled.

“I can’t wait for you to see it,” said Abrams. “It’s been a blast working on this and luckily we have an incredible post-production team. There are always challenges as you go but it’s been a complete kick to put this together.”

Of course, there’s still one big question that remains – which of the rumours are true and which are false? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ heads to cinemas on 18 December 2015.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ may be a long way away, but it looks as though we can pre-order our first official merchandise – a book detailing the art of the movie.
