A new ‘X-Men’ movie is coming… and it’s shooting soon.
During an interview with HeyUGuys at last night’s BAFTA Awards ceremony, the 20-year-old British actress revealed that she’s returning to her ‘X-Men’ role soon enough.
“We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men, we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts,” she said. “And then we go on to Season 8 [of Game of Thrones].”
Of course, this seemingly confirms rumours that a new ‘X-Men’ movie is coming.
But that does seem like a major slip up for the young actress. After all, we’ve heard nothing official about a new ‘X-Men’ film as yet… and this could be our first confirmation that a new ‘X-Men’ movie is actually happening.
And it looks as though it’s filming sooner rather than later.
Rumoured to be titled ‘X-Men: Supernova’, the upcoming movie will reportedly focus on Turner’s mutant character – the young Jean Grey – as her powers develop beyond the psychic, transforming her into her classic alter-ago, Dark Phoenix.
But for now, that’s just a rumour.
As for the start date of this new ‘X-Men’ movie, rumours suggest we’ll see cameras start rolling in June 2017… and judging by Sophie Turners comments, it could well turn out to be the case.
Either way, a new ‘X-Men’ movie is coming.
Whether or not it’s the rumoured ‘Supernova’ remains to be seen. But I’d hedge my bets here and wager that the story of Dark Phoenix is exactly what we can expect… whether or not it’s eventually called ‘X-Men: Supernova’.
