Sophie Turner is taking classes for her next career
Sophie Turner may be known for her acting, but on Conan she revealed she is looking to begin a new career away from the camera. The Game of Thrones and X-Men star said she has started studying to become a detective.
Turner told the talk show host, “I've started studying criminology, which I'm really excited about.” Though the actress admitted she still has a long way to go. “I'm only in unit two right now so I'm early on.”
This is not the first time Turner has discussed pursuing a career change in law enforcement.
Back in April, Sophie was a guest on the podcast “Phil in the Blanks” with Dr. Phil where she discussed an “urge” to attend the police academy and become a cop.
Outside of taking classes, Turner said she plans on attending a real autopsy with a friend of hers who is a cop. And her obsession with the criminal system is so great, she admitted she wouldn’t mind spending at least one day in prison.
23-year-old Turner, whose latest film X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in cinemas now, made her television debut in 2011 playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. She was 14 when she started filming the hit HBO show, and she starred in all eight seasons of the the fantasy drama.
She has two upcoming projects according to IMDb. One is Broken Soldier, about a “war veteran suffering from PTSD befriends a teenage girl”, and Heavy, a drama which is in post-production.
Whether Turner plans to ditch acting altogether is unclear.
The British actress wed pop star Joe Jonas in Las Vegas earlier this year, just hours after attending the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Garden Arena. The surprise ceremony was revealed by music producer Diplo, who livestreamed the pair tying the knot on Instagram.
