Space Jam 2 has finally been given an official title — and no, it's not Pump up the Jam, unfortunately.
The long-awaited sequel to the cult 1996 sports movie is finally in the works, with basketball legend LeBron James taking on the lead role.
The sports star has now confirmed on social media that the movie will go under the title Space Jam: A New Legacy.
James posted a boomerang on his Twitter of him wearing a cap with the title emblazoned on it, captioning it "2021".
Not many details are known about the sequel's plot, though we do know that Don Cheadle will appear in the movie — and according to his Black Monday co-star Paul Scheer, he is set to play the baddie in A New Legacy.
"Actually Don Cheadle, who I do Black Monday with, he's the bad guy in Space Jam , and he said LeBron's really great. He was great in Trainwreck too."
Star Trek: Discovery's Sonequa Martin-Green is also set to appear as Savannah James, the businesswoman and philanthropist married to James.
The Looney Tunes' Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck will be back, both voiced by Eric Bauza, while basketball players Klay Thompson, Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard and Chiney Ogwumike will all appear as fictionalised versions of themselves.
Space Jam 2 is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on July 16, 2021.
