Actress Spencer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey, slashed in restaurant knife attack
Actress Spencer Grammer has spoken about being attacked with a knife in a restaurant after trying to stop an “altercation from escalating”.
The 36-year-old, who is the daughter of Frasier legend Kelsey Grammer, is best known for voicing the character Summer in cult animated comedy Rick & Morty.
The star was with friends at The Black Ant restaurant in New York’s East Village when the altercation occurred.
She told Us Weekly: “I sustained a laceration on my arm, and my friend was stabbed in the back, but thankfully he suffered no serious internal injuries.

“We expect to recover quickly.”
She added: “My friend and I did what anyone else would do in the same situation.”
She went on to explain how, as well as she and her friend, several other people were also “attempting to prevent the altercation from escalating”.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department.

A statement from the department’s spokesperson reads: “On Friday, July 24, 2020, at approximately 2310 hours in front of 60 2 Avenue (9 Precinct), an unknown male stuck a 36-year-old female in the right arm with an unknown object causing a laceration and swelling.
“A 31-year-old male was also struck in the lower back causing a laceration. The complainants were removed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
“The suspect fled the location on foot. He is described as a male black in his 30s, approximately 5’08” and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black sandals.”
Spencer, who has also had a starred in US comedy Greek, is the eldest of father Kelsey’s seven children. Her younger half-sister, Greer Grammer, is also an actress.
