Star Trek teleportation prank 'beams up' British shoppers

Marketing stunt teleports punters across Westfield shopping centre, but how did they do it?

In a stunt to drum up excitement around the release of 'Star Trek Into Darkness' on Blinkbox, shoppers at Westfield were duped into believing various 'members of the public' were being somehow transported through space and time.

A man in a white coat – you can always trust a man in a white coat – officiated while three people were sent to various parts of the mall.

Bystanders seemed baffled at the stunt, but one chap got to the bottom of it...

Watch to the end of the video to see the reveal.

Sadly Star Trek-style teleportation isn't currently a reality, but Professor Brian Cox recently said that time machines similar to the Tardis in 'Doctor Who' could be possible.
