It is looking all but certain that the original trio of 'Star Wars' leads will be returning for J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars: Episode 7'.
When Mark Hamill confirmed that talks had taken place with Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and himself he said they would be back as supporting characters, leading many to speculate that the real stars of this new trilogy will be the offspring of their characters.
LucasFilm are unlikely to stick too closely to the expanded universe fiction which has pretty much filled out the entire lives of the Skywalker and Solo clan, but there's no reason they won't keep some things the same.

For example their children. We will be looking at potential actors for each role over the coming week, but for now here's a very brief history of each of the characters who could be saving the galaxy far far away in 2015.
Meet the kids
In the years following the destruction of the Death Star in 'Return of the Jedi' Leia and Han Solo have twins, Jaina and Jacen, followed by another son Anakin a year and a half later.
Nearly 15 years after that Luke Skywalker, having found a wife in expanded universe figurehead Mara Jade, has a son called Ben, after his mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Anakin's life was short and tragic. He died a little over 16-years old fighting off forces of the alien race known as the Yuuzhan Vong in an attempt to give his friends and fellow Jedi enough time to eradicate the threat they posed to the New Rupublic.
Jaina and Jacen Solo
Twins much like their mother and uncle, Jaina and Jacen had the benefit of growing up with each other and definitely didn't share any awkward, creepy kisses on Hoth. They did however have their own host of problems.
An accomplished mechanic and distinguished pilot, Jaina was also trained in the ways of the Jedi and fought in many wars even at a young age alongside her brother Jacen, who was a Jedi Knight through and through.
Both were deeply affected by the death of their brother Anakin, each flirting with the dark side. It was Jacen who succumbed to it however eventually, over time, becoming Darth Caedus. Keeping his alliance with the Sith secret, it was his aunt Mara Jade-Skywalker who first found out, leading to Jacen killing her.
Jaina resisted the dark side and eventually fought long and hard against her brother who had seized control of the Galactic Alliance. Brother and sister eventually duelled in a battle that ended Jacen's life and brought an end to the Second Galactic Civil War.
Much younger than his cousins, Ben Skywalker was in fact taught the ways of the force by Jacen, prior to his turn to the dark side.
Eventually becoming a powerful Jedi, Ben went on his own adventures and fought his own battles. He would return however to investigate the death of his mother, eventually discovering it was his cousin who had committed the murder.
This lead to many battles between the two during the Second Galactic Civil War.
What does this mean for 'Episode 7'?
This is of course a very brief look at the very long histories of each character. We feel like any new film would focus on three rather than four children so one, probably Anakin, could be dropped.
You get a feel for their dynamic however and how they could work in a new trilogy with Jaina the born leader, Ben the most pure and Jacen toying with the dark side.
Keep an eye on Yahoo over the next week as we start to look at who might be cast as Jaina, Jacen and Ben.
