It was recently rumoured that we’d see our first ‘Star Wars VII’ trailer by December 2014… and it would be attached to ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.’ But we might get a glimpse a lot sooner than we thought…
According to an anonymous report on Reddit, the upcoming ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer will debut as early as next weekend…
“Looks like they are going to release it attached to most if not all films in select theaters,” the user claimed. “Not sure how wide it will go but this is at least good news… The source is an internal e-mail, sadly I can’t post that.”
Disney has apparently made an agreement with 100 cinemas across the USA to run a showing of ‘Big Hero 6’ in their earliest slot on that particular day… and for our American friends, that’s how they may be able to spot the participating cinemas.
Of course, it does sound as though it could be one big lie… but the folks at Slashfilm seem certain that this is when the trailer will be released. Even if the exact method remains unknown.
“I have independently heard from very good sources that the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer will be shown in a limited number of theaters during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend,” said Peter Sciretta. “If I had not been told [this] information… I would have completely written the reddit report off as fan-written bulls**t — but it’s very possible this is THE PLAN.”
Will the trailer appear this weekend? It’s certainly possible… and while the Reddit scooper may have gotten some details wrong, it’s exciting to think that this could be our first glimpse of ‘Star Wars VII’. And it might happen this Friday.
Either way, it surely won’t be long until we see our first teaser trailer. And with only a year left before ‘Star Wars VII’ debuts in cinemas across the UK, it’s definitely something to be excited about.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ appears in cinemas on 18 December 2015.
