Star Wars 8 character details emerge

While Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran have already been confirmed as the newest editions to the ‘Star Wars’ cast for ‘Episode 8’ we still don’t know anything about their characters.

That might have all changed now, though, because a new report has emerged from Making Star Wars that has revealed a variety of details regarding who the actors will be playing, which includes a tease of their arcs and physical appearances.

Those of you that want to remain in the dark about ‘Star Wars 8’ probably shouldn’t read ahead. But those of you that are eager to learn more can check out a breakdown of this speculation below.

Benicio del Toro

The Oscar winning actor is believed to be playing a classic “man in black” character, as that’s the only colour he wears. We also know that del Toro is clean shaven and his hair is the length of Poe Dameron(Oscar Isaac)’s in ‘The Force Awakens.’

While he’s described as “dangerous,” Making Star Wars made sure to underline that ‘Episode 8’s’ heroes don’t initially see him as such. The site ended by saying that at the moment he sounds a little too close to Lando Calrissian in ‘The Empire Strikes Back,’ but that they expect future revelations to make him more original.

Laura Dern

Reportedly the most “bombastic” of the trio of new recruits, Laura Dern’s character is described as “aristocratic,” “fancy,” and overly put together, while Making Star Wars made sure to underline that her look is completely original to the ‘Star Wars’ universe.

Her most eye-catching feature is her pink hair, which looks as though it has been ripped from ‘The Hunger Games’, while it also evokes the ‘Star Wars’ prequels, too.

Kelly Marie Tran

The biggest revelation regarding Kelly Marie Tran’s character is that she is tangled up with Finn (John Boyega) throughout ‘Episode 8’. Her look is apparently the complete opposite of Laura Dern, as she wears a jumpsuit and is just “normal looking.”

Other than that news was still at a premium, other than the fact that Making Star Wars described her predicament as a “cool situation.”

We’ve still got over a year to wait to find out what that means exactly, as ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ won’t be with us until December 15, 2017.

Thankfully, though, ‘Rogue One’ can fill the void, because its release date of December 16, 2016, is getting ever closer.
