Star Wars 8 Millennium Falcon Found By Urban Explorers

If you go down to the woods today, you might find the Millennium Falcon…

It’s no secret that ‘Star Wars 8’ is filming across the UK and Ireland… and with the film setting up shop in Pinewood Studios, it’s never far from our doorstep. But a group of urban explorers has managed to track down one of the ‘Star Wars 8’ filming locations.

And after heading to the galaxy far, far away, they even snuck on board the Millennium Falcon.

“After seeing Daily Mail article about Millennium Falcon touching ground in England we had to find it,” said one of the explorers via 28 Days Later. “We checked Pinewood Studios first (stated as the movie set in the article), but ‘fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy’ was nowhere to be found.”

But they didn’t stop there…

“A few days later we went to Longcross Studios and it was a good idea,” they added. “Corellian light freighter was there, parked in the middle of the woods. After finding it and checking how well it was secured, we came back a few days later to take some better photos.”

That’s certainly one way of putting it…

These incredibly daring shots show the urban explorers on location alongside the Millennium Falcon. They certainly managed to nab some impressive close up shots of one of sci-fi most iconic vessels… and even got up close and personal by climbing inside.

“The freighter entrance was opened and it was easy to get inside,” they revealed.

But the iconic interior was (obviously) nowhere to be seen. Instead, the intrepid explorers found mostly rigging and construction beams – a far cry from the futuristic interior of the movie’s Millennium Falcon.

It’s thought that these images are from the location known as Ahch-To – the mysterious island where Rey found Luke Skywalker at the end of ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.

And judging from these images, it’s likely that this is a continuation of that scene.

“It was a really chilled out visit, we entered and left the set unseen,” they added. “And we perfectly timed it - set looks more complete now than in Daily Mail article that only appeared a few weeks ago.”

Did they manage to stow aboard? For now, we’ll have to wait and see…

But Rey might not be as forgiving as Han Solo when it comes to stowaways.
