Star Wars 8 Sees The Return Of The Knights Of Ren?

Kylo Ren’s Dark Side chums may return in ‘Star Wars 8’.

According to Jason Ward from Making Star Wars, the Knights of Ren – first seen in ‘The Force Awakens’ – could be back in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ sequel.

“Recently I glimpsed some photos of a set on the water at Malin Head,” he explained. “On the shoreline were seven men in black. There might be more but some of the people are hard to make out. All of these people are wearing all black with helmets, resembling medieval knights with weapons.”

“These are actual black costumes,” he added. “It is my opinion and the source’s opinion that these are the Knights of Ren. Kylo Ren could always have another gang of warriors in black but I think it’s likely they’re the guys we saw in The Force Awakens.”

The Knights of Ren first appeared in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as part of Rey’s mysterious vision… and were depicted wearing similar costumes to those described.

But how will they fit into ‘Star Wars 8’?

According to their source, the Knights of Ren are hunting down Rey and Luke Skywalker… and it results in a rather epic-sounding battle.

“There are ‘black helmeted medieval-looking figures’ going after Luke Skywalker and Rey on the coast of Ahch-To,” they explained. “Rey is reluctant with (if not angry at) Luke Skywalker because she has to kill Kylo Ren and she doesn’t want to do it. The scene that follows appears to be when the showdown finally begins. I suppose she accepts her duty or has no choice but to fight.”

Apparently, the battle takes place with two distinct scenes – Rey takes on Kylo Ren along the cliffside, with Luke Skywalker despatching the entire group of Knights.

“Luke Skywalker fights the Knights of Ren using the Force and then his sword, a mixture of wizard and warrior,” they revealed.

In fact, Skywalker apparently Force Pushes one of the axe-wielding Knights off a cliff.

And he’s also wielding his classic green lightsaber.”

“While we can confirm that Luke does use his lightsaber, we think we can confirm the color too; the lightsaber was green for the light-rod on set. So it appears Luke still has his Return of the Jedi saber after all these years.”

Quite how the stand-off resolves itself remains to be seen… after all, they explain that suddenly, Rey is nowhere to be seen.

Does this mean she’s in mortal peril?

Does she take a dive from the cliff or is she hanging on for dear life?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Star Wars 8’ heads to cinemas on 15 December 2017.
