Star Wars Boba Fett Spin-Off Could Star Michael B Jordan

‘Fantastic Four’ star Michael B Jordan could be heading to the galaxy far, far away… as rumours suggest he could star as everyone’s favourite bounty hunter.

According to Jeff Sneider on Meet The Movie Press, the 28-year-old actor is tipped to be up for the role of Boba Fett in his very own ‘Star Wars’ spin-off.

“I do think that Boba Fett will be African-American,” he said. “The character will be. I don’t know if they’ll end up getting a black director… I just remember hearing somewhere, Michael B. Jordan rumours for Boba Fett.”

Boba Fett made his first appearance in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and was an instant hit… despite having just a handful of lines throughout the entire ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.

But the iconic bounty hunter’s backstory was later filled in by George Lucas during the prequel trilogy… with Daniel Logan starring as a young Boba Fett and Temuerra Morrison playing his ‘father’ Jango – the man from which Boba was cloned.

But with Michael B. Jordan rumoured to play an African-American version of Boba, it seems that he may be in for a bit of a change.

“From what I heard, F. Gary Gray, after ‘Compton’, was only considering two movies – one was ‘Furious 8’ and the other required meetings in San Francisco… that leaves literally two possibilities. The first possibility, which is what I’m thinking that it was, was to possibly replace Josh Trank on the Boba Fett movie.”

It certainly makes a lot of sense – after all, F. Gary Gray is pretty hot after ‘Straight Outta Compton’… and with Josh Trank’s involvement, it seems logical that Michael B. Jordan may be involved somewhere.

But what about Boba’s original origins?

We’ve heard rumours for some time that the Boba Fett spin-off may focus on an unknown man who killed the eponymous bounty hunter and took his armour – taking his mantle in the process.

Will this happen? For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but one of the most mysterious characters in ‘Star Wars’ just got even more enigmatic.
