It’s official: The most eagerly-anticipated film of recent memory has finished shooting and the cast and crew of ‘Star Wars” Episode VII' have been rewarded for their efforts with a handwritten note, crew cap, and the biggest wrap party this side of the fall of the Empire.
The note, shared on Twitter by @AdmiralPellaeon, hails the people who helped make the film for their “professionalism, passion, and patience”, describing the seventh film in ‘Star Wars’ series as “large” in ambition.
Signed by director JJ Abrams, producers Kathleen Kennedy and Bryan Burk, and a fourth unknown person, the note said: “We are here to make a film that entertains millions of people, of all ages, for generations. To create an experience people will cherish watching as much as we will cherish having made it, together.”
At the top of the image you can also see the peak of an embroidered ‘Episode VII’ cap which was sent to every cast and crew member along with the note.
The filmmakers were also treated to a huge wrap party at London’s Science Museum on Saturday night, with JJ Abrams, Mark Hamill (minus his Jedi-beard), Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Andy Serkis all in attendance.
Boyega posted several pictures and videos from the event on Instagram showing him dancing with co-star Daisy Ridley to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Superstitious’ and posing with R2-D2 who seemed to be enjoying a well-earned night off from serving drinks on Jabba’s Skiff.
Interestingly Simon Pegg, who’s long been rumoured to have a cameo in ‘Episode 7’ but who has always denied it, was snapped arriving at the event in a dapper tweed suit.
Is there something you’re not telling us Simon?
'Star Wars: Episode VII' is coming to cinemas on 18 December, 2015.
