Star Wars Fan Creates Bond-Style Credits Sequence For Empire Strikes Back

When you think of fan-made videos, they might be endearing, but they’re not always of the best quality. This however, is another level.

‘Star Wars’ fan Kurt Rauffer has created a credits sequence for 1980’s 'The Empire Strikes Back’, in the style of the James Bond series.

Set to Radiohead’s unused theme for last year’s 'Spectre’ (we’ll never forgive Sony for picking Sam Smith’s song over it) the video uses iconic imagery from the series, stylised to fit the song and intention of Rauffer’s work.

The reason for the video’s quality? It was designed, directed and produced by Rauffer for his senior thesis at the School of Visual Arts.

“I really wanted to play on the concept of Luke trying to find himself and true purpose, so the music and inspiration felt fitting,” Rauffer writes in the video’s description.

“Growing up in the 90s where 'Star Wars’ was released on VHS, the franchise really sparked my imagination as a child,” "It not only let me exercise my imagination but also supplied me with some of the happiest memories as I watched it with my family.“

"After re-watching 'The Empire Strikes Back,’ I decided to use this as a chance to create a homage in the form of a title sequence.”

He promises to release a Making Of video soon.
