Fans of ‘Star Wars’ are branding the DVD release of 'The Force Awakens’ a 'rip-off’, after discovering that it features no extras.

All the extras appear to be on the Blu-ray version of the movie, which was released on Monday, but not the DVD format.

Taking to the Amazon website to complain, one buyer said: “Its star wars, and all you get is the movie, thats it, no extras, no making of, no deleted scenes, nothing.

“The least I would expect of a star wars DVD is some short clips of interviews or something. But, nothing, nada, not a thing.”

Added another: “This is crazy! There are no extras on the dvd. What was with all the hype with the deleted scenes on the dvd. What’s going on amazon, you’ve ripped us off, big time??!!??”

Another confirmed: “All you get is 1 disc containing the film, no extras at all, no info insert inside. The case is so flimsy you almost feel you can put your fingers through it, the whole thing feels flimsy. Very disappointed with Disney, this is not a patch on the DVDs released under George Lucas which were often 2 disc sets and laden with bonus material. A real let down from Disney.”

Others took to Twitter, addressing @starwars directly.

The Blu-ray version has a wealth of extras, including various behind-the-scenes and making-of featurettes, plus deleted scenes.

Many have questioned the listing on Amazon in particular, which fails to mention the lack of any extras on the DVD release.

Disney released the £15.99 Blu-ray to online retailers for £15.99, including its bonus disc, and the single-disc DVD for £9.99.

So far Disney has not commented on the matter.
