A Stormtrooper helmet, a number of lightsabers and Darth Vader’s outfit are all set to go under the hammer.
A number of iconic Star Wars props are set to be auctioned in Los Angeles.
Over 850 unique and original items which have been featured in George Lucas’s iconic franchise will be sold to the highest bidder as part of Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on Wednesday, August 26 and Thursday, August 27.
The online auction will likely see fans from all across the world place bids in order to get their hands on their own piece of history.
Among the items for sale include the Darth Vader promotional touring costume from the Star Wars: A New Hope, first released in 1977, and Boba Fett’s helmet from 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
Items from the prequel films, released between 1999 and 2005, are also up for grabs.
The duelling lightsaber hilt used by Ewan McGregor’s character Obi-Wan Kenobi, will be on offer, as will Count Dooku’s (played by Christopher Lee) duelling lightsaber from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
A Stormtrooper costume, from Disney+ hit The Mandalorian, is one of the newer props available to buy.
However, if you’re a Star Wars fan shopping for a bargain, it’s best to look elsewhere.
As the auction’s star attraction, the Darth Vader costume is expected to sell for up to $250,000 (£191,400). Even the smaller ticket items are still thought to be worth a pretty penny.
Boba Fett’s helmet is expected to fetch up to $30,000 (£22,900), while the Stormtrooper costume could see bids as high as $10,000 (£7,600).
Speaking about the upcoming auction, Prop Store COO Brandon Alinger said: “Prop Store is known for focusing on the 1970s and 1980s with our memorabilia auctions, and we’re thrilled to continue our tradition of offering quality Star Wars lots with the original 1977 touring Darth Vader costume in this auction.
“In addition to being worn at promotional events for the original movie, the helmet’s dome has the distinction of featuring on the Advance poster for The Empire Strikes Back.
“We’re also auctioning off an original Stormtrooper helmet, a Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber handle, and much more.
“Prop Store is thrilled to be offering such wonderful pieces of the Star Wars universe to fans, together with over 850 props and costumes at Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on 26th August 2020 and 27th August 2020.”
