Star Wars Rumour: Harrison Ford signs multi-picture deal?

Han Solo could be back in more than just Episode VII.

Han Solo could be heading back to the galaxy far, far away in a much bigger role than we thought… as the latest rumour suggests a multi-picture deal for Harrison Ford.

That's right folks - the 'Star Wars' sequels could be getting a more liberal helping of Han Solo as a new rumour surfaces that Harrison Ford has signed on for more than just 'Episode VII'. But does this mean he'll be dashing around the galaxy, shooting from the hip? Or will he be taking a back seat in the Millennium Falcon?

According to our pals over at Jedi News, it looks as though Lucasfilm have much bigger plans for Han Solo…

"Han Solo, Harrison Ford, is back and on board for Episode Seven, but that's not all," says their source. "A verbal agreement with Ford to play Han Solo once more has been in principle place since before the Disney deal. Over the course of this summer financial settlements were reached."

Obviously, that's great news… and it seems that details of this deal include a multi-picture contract which puts Harrison Ford firmly back in the sequel trilogy. If the rumour is to be believed.

"Ford wanted to see the synopsis for his character's development over more than just Episode 7. He saw this in August and is happy with the story arc."

"Disney wanted a multi film deal with Ford which transcends Episode 7. This has now been agreed."

But how will Han fit into the sequel trilogy? Will he be in the thick of it with the next generation of Solos and Skywalkers or will he be forced to take a back seat?

Obviously a multi-film deal means we'll be seeing much more of Han Solo… but is this confined to the all-new sequel trilogy or could it include something else entirely? I am, of course, referring to the highly-anticipated (and rumoured) Han Solo spin-off.

While it seems that we'll be seeing plenty more of Harrison Ford throughout the sequel trilogy, could he be on board for the spin-off as well? He may be (way) too old to play a young Han Solo, but I can't help thinking a cameo or even narrator role as Han looks back over his past could be a nice nod to the original movies.

And while the chances of Harrison Ford signing up to even more 'Star Wars' movies is approximately 3720 to 1, I say "Never tell me the odds."

Do you think Harrison Ford will be back for the entire 'Star Wars' sequel trilogy? Will he appear in the Han Solo spin-off movie? Let us know what you think in the comments below…
