This Star Wars: The Binks Awakens Trailer Cannot Be Unseen

It was only a matter of time before we saw someone place the dubious character that is Jar Jar Binks into the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ trailer, dubbed ‘The Binks Awakens’.

Not only does the amphibious annoyance now appear in the J.J. Abrams teaser, he dominates it and it’s resulted in the short trailer going viral. In just over a week, murdockmotion’s cleverly edited video has notched up over a million views, and the numbers continue to rise.

Star Wars’ fans should probably brace themselves for what could arguably be the worst day of their lives if they still can’t let the haunting memory of ‘The Phantom Menace’ and all that came afterwards (including Jar Jar) go.

Amusingly, Jar Jar’s been placed into various scenes and roles of the existing ‘The Force Awakens’ characters, such as as Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron. He’s in practically every shot of the two-minute trailer, but there’s also some cheekily added shots of young Anakin.

While the false inclusion of arguably the most loathed character from the ‘Star Wars’ galaxy is rather funny, it doesn’t conform to a continual idea - we see him as Kylo Ren and as a character interacting with him too. So there goes our hopes of him actually being the Sith apprentice, it seems.

'Star Wars: The Force Awkanes’ is in UK cinemas from 17 December.
