Star Wars: The Force Awakens: 'Lots Of Surprises’ To Come, Says Mark Hamill

Just when you think you’ve seen the last ‘Star Wars:The Force Awakens’ trailer, another pops up. And the same can be said for Mark Hamill quotes.

Every week, new tidbits emerge, courtesy of various actors or sources, but Hamill has most recently said there are a host of surprises to be had in the J.J. Abrams movie.

The most intriguing secret is the fate of Luke Skywalker. Is he a Jedi Master? Is he now a Sith? Is he dead? Is he alive? But Hamill can’t help but tease us.

“Obviously you’re seeing him in a very different time in his life,” the actor told Empire. “There are lots of surprises in this movie. You’re going to love it.”

However, he shared his experiences on the set of the seventh sci-fi adventure which hint to us about Luke’s involvement: “It reminded me of when I was in Tunisia on the salt flats,” he expressed.

“If you could get into your own mind and shut out the crew and look at the horizon, you really felt like you were in a galaxy far, far away. I had that same wave of emotion happen to me when I was on Skellig Michael in Ireland. I wasn’t anticipating it.”

While he’s not giving a whole lot away, it implies there will be a number of scenes of an aged Luke sharing his own company. Could he be in hiding, just like Obi-Wan and Yoda were during the original trilogy? So many answers and not very long to wait now.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ is in UK cinemas on 17 December.
