Star Wars travel posters go viral

A US artist has created some stunning 'Star Wars' artwork inspired by the iconic US tourism posters of the 30s and 40s.

Freelance artist Steve Thomas has a penchant for the geeky side of entertainment having also produced works inspired by Disney, Marvel and 'Star Trek' in the past.

The posters were inspired by the work of artists funded by the US government in the late 30s and early 40s as part of an attempt to boost their fledging economy following the Great Depression.

The resulting posters, showing off the more scenic parts of the US of A, are iconic with their basic colour pallets and overall simplicity.
