Han Solo’s ‘Star Wars’ spin-off has begun filming.
Appearing on Twitter, the film’s co-director Chris Miller revealed that the young Han Solo movie has officially started filming… revealing the films working title (and an awesome pun) in the process.
“Han First Shot” he said alongside an image of the film’s clapperboard.
But could this tell us more than we first thought?
It looks as though it might even be an indication of the film’s final title.
As you can see, the above image reveals the working title for the young ‘Han Solo’ movie… and it’s ‘Star Wars: Red Cup’. At first, it might seem a little random… but the Solo Red Cup is actually a thing.
Solo Cup Company is an American manufacturer of disposable red cups – emblazoned with the world ‘Solo’ written down the side. In fact, Chris Miller previously tweeted out an image of the famous red cup when he first landed the ‘Star Wars’ job.
“Very excited,” he said. “Celebrating by drinking fancy whiskey out of this cup.”
Could this be an indication that the film is simply called: ‘Solo’?
It would certainly fit the pattern. After all, ‘Star Wars: Solo’ wouldn’t be out of place alongside the likes of ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’. Or it could simply be a reference to Miller’s original tweet, when he was so thrilled to have landed the Han Solo job.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
Either way, the Han Solo movie is on its way… awesome news for ‘Star Wars’ fans.
Alden Ehrenreich stars as a young Han Solo, alongside Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover and Woody Harrelson.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller will direct, based on a script by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan.
The untitled ‘Han Solo’ spin-off heads to cinemas on 25 May 2018.
