Steamy Fifty Shades Of Grey Trailer The Most Viewed Of 2014
The ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ trailer has amassed more first-week views than any other this year. Who’d thought?
Released just six days ago, it has been seen 36.4 million times in its opening week, smashing the year’s previous best of 31 million for ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, according to figures from tech company Zefr.
If you’re one of the few people who haven’t yet seen the trailer, watch it below.
‘Godzilla’ and ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ both notched up 26 million views in their first weeks.
A successful trailer often translates into a box office success: ‘Godzilla’ and ‘Transformers’, for example, were both big hits, making £293 million and £571 respectively.

There are exceptions though – according to IMDB - ‘After Earth’ was the ninth most popular of 2013, but the Will Smith sci-fi was a big flop on its release.
‘Fifty Shades…’ won’t arrive on our screens until Feb 13, 2015 – that’s the day before Valentine’s Day, in case you want to start planning.
Based on the sensational success of EL James’s novel, ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ stars Jamie Dornan as the rich, kinky Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as the naïve young woman who’s only too willing to become his sex slave.
The film has had its production problems with the original star Charlie Hunnam pulling out and producer Michael De Luca confirming it would be much less racy than the book.
Nonetheless, the trailer still had its saucy moments towards the end, hinting at the film’s BDSM theme (see below!).
However it remains to be seen movie if the movie will leave in all the action that made the book such a runaway hit.
It’s expected that producers will tone it down and go for the commercially viable R rating, rather than the adult-only NC-17 in the US.
We’ll find out for sure next February.
