Pennywise is back… and he’s freaking us out already.

The upcoming remake of Stephen King’s ‘IT’ brings the classic tale of clown-shaped terror back to the big screen. And it’s already shaping up to be every bit as terrifying as the original.

Starring Bill Skarsgård as everyone’s favourite creepy clown, Pennywise, Stephen King’s ‘IT’ dropped another terrifying image today courtesy of Empire Magazine. And it’s freaking us all out.

Seriously, it’s just nightmare fuel.

“There’s supposed to be a less-is-more thing in horror,” director Andrés Muschietti told Empire. “It’s like you’re not really meant to show the monster. But Pennywise is different. With Pennywise, it’s like, ‘This is the monster, I’m showing it to you… and you’re going to shit a brick.’”

No kidding.

At least, not if there’s more where this creepy new image came from.

Bill Skarsgård takes over the iconic role from Tim Curry, who played the inter-dimensional creature in the original two-part miniseries way back in 1990. In fact, the image above first appeared in the original mini-series… and Skarsgård manages to look every bit as chilling as the original killer clown.

But when will we get to see him in all his spine-tingling glory?

It’s rumoured that an official trailer for Stephen King’s ‘IT’ is coming soon… so it probably won’t be too long before we find out what the new Pennywise is really capable of. And I just can’t wait to see this new take on the classic, creepy character.

Stephen King’s ‘IT’ stars Bill Skarsgård, Finn Wolfhard, Megan Charpentier, Nicholas Hamilton, Jaeden Lieberher, Sophie Lillis, Steven Williams and Owen Teague.

Andrés Muschietti directs based on a script by Gary Dauberman, Chase Palmer, and Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Stephen King’s ‘IT’ opens in cinemas on 8 September 2017.
