TV adventurer Steve Backshall and Olympic rower Helen Glover expecting another baby

Steve Backshall and wife Helen Glover have revealed they are expecting another baby together, as they debuted her growing bump on the red carpet.

The TV naturalist and the Olympic rowing champion became parents to son Logan last July after Glover, 33, tragically shared the loss of his twin on social media part way through her pregnancy.

Backshall, 46, and Glover attended the Mirror Animal Hero Awards in London where they were presenting at the ceremony.

Commenting on the new pregnancy, a glowing Glover tweeted: “An absolute dream to present the Animal Hero Award and first official outing of the bump!”

The couple announced last March they were expecting twins, but a month later Glover revealed the heartbreaking news that they had lost one of the babies.

She told her 55.8k followers: “Thanks for all your lovely messages. We've had the hard news that one baby hasn't made it but we are very excited and hopeful for the remaining baby to arrive this summer.”

The Olympic medalist was flooded with messages of support online and baby Logan was born happy and healthy last July.

Steve and Helen met when they both took part in Sport Relief back in 2014. They announced their engagement in 2015 and married a yeat later in Cornwall.

Adventurer Backshall - who competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 - revealed earlier this year how he nearly drowned in a kayaking accident filming his latest TV series, and that becoming a father had changed his perspective on life.

He told the Daily Mirror: “I’d enough time to understand that I had no strength left and was drowning.

“I realised it was how it ends, how I was going to die.

“I had time to think through the impact, that I would never get to see my baby son grow up.”
