Congratulations are in order for former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Natalie Lowe, who has confirmed that she has given birth to her first child.

"Overjoyed to announce the arrival of Jack James Knibbs weighing in at 8lbs 8oz," she announced on Twitter tonight (December 7).

"We’re all doing amazingly well and are so grateful for this gift of life. Massive thank you to all the incredible team at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester."

Lowe started dating company director James Knibbs after they met on a train five years ago. The pair announced their engagement in 2015 and tied the knot last year, before Natalie shared the news that she was expecting a baby back in August.

At the time she said: "I now only have 1 season of #SCD to prepare for bubba’s arrival...". Although it looks like the baby had other ideas, popping out on the day of the semi-final.

The star's Strictly career lasted from 2009 to 2016, and during her tenure she was paired up with Greg Rutherford (as seen below), Ricky Whittle, Scott Maslen, Tim Wonnacott and Ainsley Harriott.

Who will bag the Glitterball Trophy? Tune in next week to find out!

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 continues on Saturday (December 14) at 7pm on BBC One.
