Yahoo Movies Sydney Sweeney responds to romance rumours with movie co-star Glen Powell
Sydney Sweeney has laughed off speculation about a romance with her co-star Glen Powell.
The duo are working together on the romantic comedy Anyone But You, in which they play two feuding vacationers who are continuously brought together during a trip to Australia.
When filming commenced earlier this year, there was speculation on social media that Sweeney could be dating Powell — who had reportedly broken up with his girlfriend Gigi Paris around the same time.
During a recent interview with Variety, Sweeney stopped short of classifying her relationship with Powell but admitted the speculation had been fun for them.
"It's a rom-com. That's what people want!" she said.
The actress went on: "Glen and I don't really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he's such a hard worker, and I'm a hard worker. We're excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, 'That's really funny'."
Anyone But You will feature an impressive international cast that includes Barbie's Alexandra Shipp and Star Trek: Picard's Michelle Hurd.
Beyond Anyone But You, Sweeney has a full schedule of film projects on the horizon, including playing the future Spider-Woman (aka Julia Carpenter) in Sony's Madame Web opposite Dakota Johnson.
She's also producing and starring in the horror film Immaculate, where she'll play a nun who accepts a post at a convent with dark secrets. Her thriller film Echo Valley, also starring Julianne Moore, is on the way as well.
Meanwhile, Powell will next star in the action comedy Hit Man and the long-waited Twister sequel, in which he'll appear with Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' Anthony Ramos.
Anyone But You is expected to be released in cinemas this December.
