Sylvester Stallone, Adam Driver Team for ‘Tough As They Come’

Sylvester Stallone is climbing back into the director’s chair to tell the true story of an American hero — quadruple amputee Travis Mills — in “Tough as They Come.”

The “Rocky” legend will direct and co-star with “Star Wars” player Adam Driver, two individuals familiar with the project said.

The film, an adaptation of retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Mills’s memoir, does not yet have a studio or indie distributor behind it and is currently being shopped by Stallone’s agent from William Morris Endeavor.

Though a Driver spokesperson was not immediately available for comment, the “Force Awakens” villain is set for the title role of Mills, who was critically injured on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan by an IED, losing portions of both legs and both arms.

He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries.

Stallone has quite a few directing credits to his name, mostly in his iconic boxing franchise, like “Rocky II,” “Rocky III,” “Rocky IV,” the 1983 film “Staying Alive” and 2010’s first installment of “The Expendables,” in which he also costarred with Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Terry Crews, Steve Austin and Jason Statham.
