T2 Trainspotting: Renton and Sick Boy are in deep trouble in our exclusive new clip

The boys are back in town, and they’re up to their neck in s*** once again.

‘T2 Trainspotting’ hits cinemas next week and we’re thrilled to share an exclusive never-before-seen clip from Danny Boyle’s long-awaited sequel ahead of it pulling into cinemas on Friday, 27 January.

The clip shows Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller as Mark Renton and Simon “Sick Boy” Williamson after they’ve been snatched by local gangster Doyle. The Edinburgh hood has beef with the two old friends because they’re planning to set up a brothel in the town where he owns “all the saunas”.

Renton’s back in Edinburgh after 20 years of enforced exile in Amsterdam. He’s been living there since the events of the first film after he ripped off Sick Boy, Spud, and Begbie and now he’s back to make amends with his old pals, whatever it takes.

Sick Boy’s plan however immerses him back in the murky Scottish underworld once again after 20 years of clean living.

At the film’s premiere screening last night, director Danny Boyle apologised for the film being late after it missed its 20th anniversary year by a few weeks. He also revealed the actors expressed concerns about making the film while on set, often asking him “Danny, it’s not going to be s***, is it?”

You can rest easy, it doesn’t sully the first film’s legacy as our exclusive clip proves.
