Larry Kasanoff is perhaps most famous for producing the Arnold Schwarzenegger hit, ‘True Lies’ as well as Paul W. S. Anderson’s ‘Mortal Combat’. Perhaps that makes him the perfect producer to bring ‘Tetris’ to the big screen.
A big screen adaptation of puzzle video game ‘Tetris’ is one step closer to becoming a reality, with filming set to take place in China next year. The live-action film will be a US-Chinese co-production and the first project of Threshold Global Studios, a joint venture of 'True Lies’ producer Larry Kasanoff and Chinese media mogul Bruno Wu. It is believed (according to The Hollywood Reporter) that Kasanoff is currently at the Cannes Film Festival meeting with potential sales agents about the project, which has a $80m budget and is being touted as an “epic sci-fi thriller”.
