British director Rupert Wyatt is set to direct the pilot of Fox’s upcoming TV reboot of horror classic ‘The Exorcist’. Wyatt is best known for crime thriller 'The Escapist’ and 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ - the successful reboot of the famed sci-fi series that spawned a sequel in 2014 and another set for release in 2017. The pilot’s script is being written by 'Fantastic Four’ writer Jeremy Slater.
Simon Kinberg, the writer and producer for the ill-fated ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot that came out earlier this year, has revealed he’s hopeful of a sequel and is ready to start work on it. The Josh Trank-directed superhero movie received mostly scathing reviews upon release, and went on to flop at the box office, taking a measly $161 million.
